Questions
What people ask before we start.
When should I call you?
When the house matters and the work has to be right: a renovation, an addition, new construction, or anything that needs permits and several trades. I take the scope, the trades and the inspections so you and your architect do not have to.
Do you work with my architect?
Yes. Most of my work starts with an architect's drawings. I build to them, raise what the house will not allow early, and keep the architect in the conversation until the last inspection.
How do you run a project?
One contractor, start to finish. I set the sequence around the structure, the materials and the inspections, keep the owner informed as decisions come up, and keep the site clean while people are living in the house.
What does a custom bathroom include?
Layout, stone, tile, cabinetry, fixtures and lighting chosen for the house, with the plumbing, waterproofing and any structural work done properly behind the finish.
What do you find in older houses?
Plumbing and electrical that need bringing up to the work, framing that has moved, and waterproofing that was never there. I look before I quote and tell you what the house needs.
Can I use the bathroom during the work?
Not during a full renovation; the room is out of service while it is rebuilt. I plan the sequence with you before the first day so the house stays livable.
